One of the biggest questions we get is how to tag and price your items. This page will give you a detailed explanation of how to successfully tag and price. However if you do not understand a step, please don't get scared off. Contact us and we'll walk you through it. Also please pay close attention to the section on what is accepted and not accepted at our sales.
For our Spring 2010 sale our tagging process will be slightly different. If you have consigned at sales in the past, you will be exempt from having to re-tag your items. However any new items need to have the new tags.

**You MUST USE BLACK OR BLUE INK ON PRICE TAGS**
If you DO NOT want an item to go half price CIRCLE the price with RED PEN. If you are ok with your item going at a lower price but not half, CIRCLE the price with RED PEN and WRITE the LOW PRICE BELOW the current price.
Description:
Place the description of the item under the description line. Identify as boy's, girl's, or maternity. Use this space to "sell" your item. i.e. "Name brand label", "New", "only worn once", etc. Also include how many pieces there are in the set.
The price should be clearly marked in the lower right corner.
Preparing Items for Sale
The appearance of your item is what will determine if it will sell and how much someone will be willing to pay for it. Taking the time to clean items will pay for itself in the end.
Clothing
Place clothing items on plastic or metal hangers with the hanger hook facing left when you are facing the garment (the top of the hanger will look like a question mark). Infant clothing should be placed on children's plastic hangers when possible for better presentation. All other clothing and bedding should be on plastic hangers. Pin items to top of hanger if they slide. Pin pants and skirts on the top part of the hanger with two safety pins if pant hangers are unavailable to use. Have all buttons, snaps, and zippers closed to help with presentation. Sets tend to sell better, so match things together if you can. Pin the back of sets together so they do not become separated. Place price tag on upper right side of garment with a silver safety pin 1 inch or larger (no small gold safety pins or straight pins). Make sure the safety pins grab the garment and tag twice to prevent tearing.
Clean all shoes. Wrap a rubber band or piece of yarn snuggly around pair of shoes to keep them together. Or place the shoes inside a clear plastic Ziploc bag. Tape price tag to bottom of shoe or the plastic bag. Make sure that the tap is also on the rubber band or yarn and does not prevent a buyer from seeing price tag information.
Toys, equipment, and furniture
Place small toys in Ziploc bags, taping the opening closed with clear packing tape to prevent them from popping open. The more coordinating toys you place in the bag, the better chance you will have of it selling. Example, Large gallon bag of army men with accessories. Please do not bring small odd-end toys as they will be hard to sell and to keep up with. Games and puzzles should have all pieces and should be in boxes closed and sealed with tape. Larger toys with small pieces, place small pieces in a Ziploc bag, seal seam with clear packing tape, and tape to larger toy piece. Batteries should be installed in toys, to show that they are in good working order. Attach price tag with tape. If that is not feasible, punch a hole in the price tag and attach it with a ribbon to a visible part of the toy. Make sure it can be easily taken off for our records when it sells.
Visit http://www.cpsc.gov/cgi-bin/recalldb/firm.asp for a recall list of children's items. If you item appears on the list, it is not accepted at this sale.
Bedding
If bedding and blankets are not in their original packaging, place them on plastic hangers, securing with safety pins. Place price tag on upper right section of hanger with a large safety pin.
The most common question we receive is “how do I price my stuff?” Below is a guideline to assist you. Of course You set the price for your items – based on the quality, name-brand and condition of the item. You can price your items at any dollar value you choose starting as low as $.50. Just keep in mind our strict guidelines for new/upscale items.
First, try to separate your personal and sentimental thoughts and feelings about an item from the resale value.
You should generally price items 1/3 to 1/4 of the original price. Ask yourself “how much would I be willing to pay for this item?” Take into consideration what the original price was.
We encourage all consignors to price their clothing items at $2.00 or more. This is not required but will allow more profit all around. If you have items that can be grouped together you can price them higher.
**There is a 25 item minimum for this sale. Meaning you must have 25 items to be able to participate in the sale.**
